In a discussion on sociopaths I was having with my boyfriend he mentioned that he believed that emotions, particularly emotions like empathy, were key in making us human and were vital in keeping society functional.

I have a lot to say on the topic of sociopaths and society, but tonight I am tired and just want to see what you think about emotions and humanity.

Are emotions what define being human?
If not, what does define ‘human’?

Could society run smoothly if no one felt empathy?

I have my own thoughts on these questions, but I want to hear yours first!
